My career in Clinical Chemistry is measured by mentors, colleagues and friends that I gained along the journey. In Iowa City Joseph Routh, David Witte, Ron Feld and George Johnson started me down the pathway of Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology career. I joined AACC in 1974 and attended my first National meeting in Las Vegas. After a fellowship, it was on to Atlanta and CDC in 1980 where Gerald Cooper became a key mentor and Gary Meyers, a life-long friend. On to Wisconsin in 1984 and the University Hospital where David Koch, James Westgard, Ronald Laessig and Sharon Ehrmeyer shared their passion for laboratory medicine. I became acquainted with several other Wisconsin colleagues, such as Steve Wong, Stanley Lo, Ronald Hass, and Carmen Wiley that assisted me along the way. Numerous colleagues gained through participation in several AACC groups became huge supporters and friends that made my journey so much FUN. Retired in 2019 and still an AACC Member!
