2021 the Academy of Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine Professor Alvin Dubin Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Profession and the Academy

Dr. Ferguson earned her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University and did her postdoctoral training in Clinical Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. She has been at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for 11 years and is the Co-Director of Clinical Chemistry and Director of both Point of Care Testing and Immunology and is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and a Fellow of the the Academy. She is actively involved in AACC and is currently the Chair of the Pediatric and Maternal-Fetal Division.  Previously she has held elected positions in the Midwest Section, the Critical and Point-of-Care Testing Division, and the the Academy. She has served as a board member of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and was a member of the 2020 AACC Annual Meeting Organizing Committee.
