What Information does AACC Collect?
To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on the AACC Web site, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. These data are submitted voluntarily. AACC asks users to provide their name, member number (for members), organization name, business phone, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to AACC through membership applications, conference or seminar registration, publication orders, and subscriptions. Additionally, for some e-mails sent in HTML format by AACC to its members, AACC will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that e-mail. For those e-mails, AACC will monitor whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: e-mail address of a user, the date and time of the user's "click," a message number, name of the list from which the message was sent, tracking URL number and destination page. AACC only uses this information to enhance its products and distribution of those products to its members. This information is not sold or distributed in any other manner.
How does AACC use the information that it collects?
AACC uses information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers in the following ways:
AACC Member Services and Products. Generally, AACC uses data collected to improve its own Web content; to respond to visitors' interests, needs and preferences; and to develop new products and services.
Disclosures to Third Parties. AACC also makes member contact information available through the AACC Membership Directory to other members using its Web site. AACC also provides limited data to third parties that purchase AACC mailing lists. Members may request AACC to refrain from disclosing their data to third parties on the membership renewal form. Membership Directory. In addition to data collected by AACC, members may update or supplement information provided in the AACC Membership Directory. AACC permits members to upload and share user generated content, such as photographs and CVs, with other members. The directory is not intended as a place for members to post third-party copyrighted content. We expect AACC members to respect the copyrights and intellectual property rights of others.
The AACC Membership Directory area is provided as a service to members to foster scientific and clinical information exchange. The use of the information for any commercial purposes whatsoever is expressly forbidden. Credit Card Account Information. AACC does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, AACC submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.
