Eric Kilpatrick MD, FRCPath, FRCP Ed is the Division Chief in Clinical Biochemistry at Sidra Medicine, Doha, a full Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine with Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar and an Honorary Professor in Clinical Biochemistry with Hull York Medical School, UK. He is also the former President of the UK’s main professional body in his specialty, the Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine and previous Chair of the Science Committee of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. He graduated in Medicine from Glasgow, trained there and then in Manchester. He has since worked at senior levels in Hull and Manchester in the UK, as well as in Doha, Qatar. Academically, he has published around 200 papers, concentrating on laboratory medicine and diabetes, and has taken on numerous national and international roles.
