Donald L. Frederick

Donald L. Frederick, PhD, DABFT, FACB

Dr. Frederick is a clinical chemist with Peoria Tazewell Pathology Group in Illinois and Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.  He is board certified as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director by ABB and as a Forensic Toxicologist by ABFT and is a Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry. He has a special interest in forensic toxicology and laboratory information services.

Dr. Frederick received a B.S. degree in chemistry from Eastern Mennonite University, an M.S. degree from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in pathology from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia.  He worked as Assistant Professor in the Pathology Department at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center where he was Director of the Clinical Toxicology Laboratory.

Dr. Frederick was also Director of Quality Assurance for the U.S. Air Force drug-testing program for five years and Director of Toxicology for Franciscan Shared Laboratory in Milwaukee for two years. He joined PTPG in 1996.
