Anders Kallner MD, PhD, Stockholm Sweden. His PhD thesis was on the stereospecific synthesis and metabolism of isomeric bile acids but his main publications are in various aspects of clinical chemistry. He was vice president of IFCC and president of the IUPAC division of Chemistry and Human health, chaired the WG on uncertainty at CLSI and worked with ISO on the standards supporting accreditation. After retiring from the Department of Clinical Chemistry at Karolinska University hospital in Sweden he published a handbook on statistics, lead annual courses in statistics for laboratory physicians and scientists and made several convenient programs for statistical routines in laboratories available at the UK ACB homepage and continued to publish in clinical chemistry.
