2022 Outstanding Contributions Through Service to the Profession of Clinical Chemistry
Dr. Salvador Sena is currently Senior Laboratory Consultant for CTI-Clinical Trial Services, Inc. in Covington, KY. Previously, he was Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry, Immunology and Point-of-Care Testing and a member of the pathology residency program faculty at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT for 33 years and is still an emeritus member of the medical staff. Dr. Sena received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, his Ph.D. in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, and completed postdoctoral fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT. During his career, he has served on boards of directors and numerous committees and task forces in the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC), the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (the Academy of Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine) the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, and the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute.;
