Dr. Peake is associate medical director of clinical chemistry at Boston Children’s Hospital, CLIA laboratory director of the satellite laboratory at the hospital’s Lexington branch, and an instructor in pathology at Harvard Medical School. He is also co-director of the postdoctoral fellowship program in clinical chemistry at Boston Children’s Hospital and mentor to clinical biochemical genetics fellows at Harvard Medical School. His research interests involve the application of chromatography and mass spectrometry to the study of inborn errors of metabolism. Dr. Peake
has helped develop many clinical assays, including those for steroid hormones, immunosuppressant drugs, busulfan, acylcarnitines, free and total carnitite, and lysosomal enzymes. His current research projects include targeted metabolomic profiling for the study of inborn errors of metabolism, a pilot program for lysosomal storage disorder screening, and a study of sudden infant death syndrome. His activities with the the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC) include serving as program chair and chair of the New England Section. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Chromatography A, Journal of Chromatography B, Clinica Chimica Acta, and Clinical Chemistry. He is associate editor for online materials for the Tietz Textbook of Clinical Chemistry and Molecular Diagnostics. A fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, Dr. Peake is board-certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
