Jeffrey A. DuBois, PhD, FACB
Dr. Jeffrey A. DuBois received a BS and MS from State University of New York, Fredonia. He attended classes at the Foundation for the Advancement of Education in the Sciences at the National Institutes of Health and received a PhD, Magna Cum Laude, in Physiology and Biochemistry from St. Bonaventure University. He also attended the Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMB5) at Northwestern University.
Dr. DuBois has been with Nova Biomedical since 1999. Prior to joining Nova, Dr. DuBois was on the faculty of the School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University and served as Executive Director of Laboratory Services at University Hospitals Health System (UHHS), Cleveland, Ohio. At UHHS, he established a system-wide strategy for lab consolidation, standardization, and integration. He also implemented a Point-of-Care (POC) Process Improvement Initiative involving point-of-care testing (POCT) analyzers and patient data management systems for remote connectivity to the laboratory of analyzers located in the ER, ICUs, and ORs. He represented UHHS and later Nova Biomedical on the NCCLS Automation Area Committee, initiated the NCCLS Committee on POC Connectivity for which he served as Chairperson, and founded the Area Committee for POCT and served as its Chair for two years.
Dr. DuBois is well published with more than 100 peer reviewed publications and is a frequent speaker on connectivity, lab automation, lab consolidation, and POCT. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemists, a member of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC), American Association of Laboratory Automation, American Diabetes Association, American Association of Diabetes Educators, European Association for the Study of Diabetes, Health Information Management Systems Society, Society for Critical Care Medicine, The Diabetes Science and Technology Society, The Endocrinology Society, and The Society for Hospital Medicine.
