Patricia Kraft graduated with a BS in Medical Technology from the University of Dayton while working her way through school as a phlebotomist and then as an on-the-job trained technician at Good Samaritan Hospital. She received her MA in Hospital Administration from Central Michigan University, and obtained her the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC) Certificate in Point of Care in 2009. She has worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for 48 years with the last 25+ years managing the Point of Care program. She was one of the first in her region to embrace connectivity for her glucose meters. Other hospital responsibilities include Education, Recycling and Lab Safety. She is a certified CAP inspector and clinical site testing investigator. She is on numerous hospital, academic and professional committees, has been a speaker on POC at the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) and CLMA national and regional meetings, is an ADLM POC mentor, has written and has been involved in several POC articles, CLSI Standards and is the facilitator for the Ohio POC Network Whitehat webinars. Previously she had held numerous local and state offices for ASMT (now ASCLS) and is currently the President/Secretary/Treasurer and founding member of the Ohio Point of Care Network.
Pat is married to her husband, Dieter, they have two children Perry and Lindsey with one grandchild, Lukas Alexander. In her spare time she love to bake, garden and vacation on the beach or on a cruise ship.
