The Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Professional Certification Board is composed of the Officers of the Board along with the members of standing committees. The Officers of the Board are responsible for the oversight and quality of the POCT Professional Certification examination as well as the ongoing relationships with the diplomates that are Certified Point-of-Care Testing Professionals (CPP).The Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Professional Certification Board is seeking applications for POCT experts to serve in the positions below beginning September 1, 2022. Term duration varies based on the role. All terms conclude on July 31.

Open Positions

Officers of the Board

  • President-Elect (3-year term)

The role of the President is to ensure the highest standards are met with regards to professional certification in Point of Care Testing. The President shall serve a term of 3 years and shall be elected by voting members of the POCT Professional Certification Board. A 1-year President-Elect term will be required during which the purpose is to observe procedures, then a 1-year term as President during which the above stated duties will apply, and afterward a 1-year term as Past-President during which they will continue to serve on the POCT Professional Certification Board as a voting member and consult/advisor to the new President and President-Elect.

  • Secretary (2-year term) 

The role of the Secretary of the POCT Professional Certification Board is to review the notes on decisions and progress on pending initiatives as recorded by support staff and help identify action items. Secretary is eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected.

Examinations Committee

  • Committee member position open (2-year term)

The role of the Examinations Committee is to oversee the quality of the certification exam and certify the results of the exam. The Examinations Committee is to approve any changes to the exam test form using applicable, pre-tested items from test bank. There are two exam periods annually. The Committee will process any exam result disputes/decision appeals and set criteria to retake exam for unsuccessful candidates desiring to do so. Members are responsible for contributing to the item development process - either directly by writing or revising up to five items (i.e., multiple choice questions) per year. Eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected.

Nominating Committee

  • Committee member position open (2-year term)

The role of the Nominating Committee is to execute a nomination and election process for new POCT Professional Certification Board members supported by administrative staff. The Nominations Committee will use the qualifications to guide selection of Board Officer candidates and standing committee members. Eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected
