Society for Young Clinical Laboratorians

Laboratorians younger than age 40 will find a welcome atmosphere among peers in the Society for Young Clinical Laboratorians (SYCL), which provides crucial networking, mentorship, programming, and recognition opportunities. SYCL (pronounced "cycle") is a free benefit to under 40 members as well as Trainee Members of AACC, and enrollment is automatic.

Partnership with Clinical Laboratory News

SYCL membership offers suggestions to the Clinical Laboratory News editorial team for topics and potential authors for articles in the publication. Clinical Laboratory News provides opportunities for SYCL members to author articles in the publication or to recruit different expert authors to write about topics proposed by SYCL membership.

SYCL 360

SYCL360 is an informative video designed for SYCL members. Its focus is to keep SYCL members up-to-date on pertinent career and educational information, highlight recent SYCL activities, and stimulate interaction.

SYCL members can view SYCL360 videos on YouTube and discussions and comments about SYCL360 can be found on the SYCL forum on AACC Artery

SYCL Travel Grants

SYCL members residing in the US can apply for need based grants to attend the AACC Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA. Preference given to applicants who submit oral or written posters for presentation. SYCL Domestic Travel Grant winners receive a cash award of $2,000. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2016.

CE credits with Lab Tests Online

SYCL members can earn ACCENT® Continuing Education Credits while contributing to the award-winning patient web resource, Lab Tests Online (LTO; By researching and writing technical updates for a wide variety of lab tests and conditions, SYCL members can receive 4 credits and receive recognition as the article reviewer.
