Grace Williams, PhD has served as Director of Toxicology and Associate Director of Clinical Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System since 2019. Dr. Williams obtained her PhD in Pharmacology from the Medical University of South Carolina where she focused on the proteomic analysis of drug signaling. This was followed by a Clinical Chemistry Fellowship and pharmacogenomics research at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Since starting her role at VCUHS, she has focused on optimization of laboratory operations, quality management, and regulatory compliance. To this end, she is currently the lead facilitator in the adoption of a department-wide document control system at her institution. She is an active contributor to AACC and serves as a member of two CLSI committees. In addition to professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs and discussing any and all things related to Science Fiction and Fantasy media and culture.
