The Miniaturization of Lab Testing

On August 1, 2016 at the 68th AACC Annual Scientific Meeting, Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes presented for the first time an inside look at her company’s technology and data. In this special session, Holmes unveiled preliminary validation data for a compact instrument called “miniLab,” the inside of a cartridge-based testing system, video and description of micro-collection devices, and a concept called a virtual analyzer.

Following the presentation by Ms. Holmes, a moderator-led Q&A session featured questions submitted in real-time by members of the audience. The moderator panel included 2016 AACC President Dr. Patricia Jones, and Drs. Y.M. Dennis Lo and Stephen Master.
