Izmarie Poventud-Fuentes, PhD is currently the senior clinical chemistry fellow at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining the clinical chemistry fellowship, Izmarie completed her PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania and her B.S. in Industrial Biotechnology at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. During her clinical chemistry fellowship, she has completed projects in the areas of hemoglobinopathies, iron deficiency, drug monitoring and renal function.
