Vinita ThakurDr. Vinita Thakur is the Provincial Point of Care Testing Director and Clinical Biochemist at Eastern Health Authority, Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University in the Canadian Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. She has worked in the field of Clinical Chemistry for more than 25 years in India as Head of Clinical Biochemistry Division before moving to Canada and is associated with various professional organizations in Clinical Chemistry. She has many articles published in peer reviewed journals. She has been working as Laboratory assessor for ISO 15189 and 17025 accreditations for past several years. She is Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has professional interests in POCT, Quality and Laboratory Management, Lean Six Sigma strategies in healthcare, Continuous Quality Improvements etc. She has won several professional awards for presentations of her research work in international conferences. Most recent in this series is the AACC academy’s Distinguished Abstract award for her poster “Use of a Lean Six Sigma Approach to Investigate Excessive Quality Control Material Use and Resulting Costs” to be presented in AACC 2020.
