The Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Professional Certification Committee is composed of the Officers of the Committee along with the members of standing committees. The Officers of the Committee are responsible for the oversight and quality of the POCT Professional Certification examination as well as the ongoing relationships with the diplomates that are Certified Point-of-Care Testing Professionals (CPP).The Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Professional Certification Committee is seeking applications for POCT experts to serve in the positions below beginning August 1, 2024. Term duration varies based on the role. All terms conclude on July 31.

Open Positions

Officers of the Board

  • President-Elect (1-year)

The role of the President-Elect of the POCT Professional Certification Committee is to observes the procedures of the committee to provide support and preparation for assuming the role of President in the future. This role involves collaborating closely with the current President, participating in strategic planning, and representing the committee in various capacities. 

  • Secretary (2-year term)

The role of the Secretary of the POCT Professional Certification Committee is to review the summaries of decisions and progress on pending initiatives as recorded by support staff and help identify action items. Secretary is eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected.

Credentials Subcommittee

  • Committee Chair position open (2-year term)

The role of the Credentials Subcommittee Chair is to ensure candidates sitting for the credentialing exam meet the standards and professional requirements set forth by overseeing the applicant review process. Eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected.

  • Committee member position open (2-year term)

The role of the Credentials Subcommittee is to assist in determining eligibility of applicants for the certification exam. The committee oversees the application review process twice annually in accordance with approved, published application requirements with the administrative support of supporting staff. Eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected

Examinations Subcommittee

  • Committee member position open (2-year term)

The role of the Exams Subcommittee is to oversee the quality of the certification exam and certify the results of the exam. The Exams Subcommittee is to approve any changes to the exam test form*, using applicable, pre-tested items from test bank. There are two exam periods annually. The Committee will process any exam result disputes/decision appeals and set criteria to retake exam for unsuccessful candidates desiring to do so. Members are responsible for contributing to the item development process - either directly by writing or revising up to five items (i.e., multiple choice questions) per year. Eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected.

Nominating Subcommittee

  • Committee Chair position open (2-year term)

The role of the Nominations Subcommittee Chair is to oversee the nominations and elections of Officers and committee members. The Nominations Subcommittee will identify potential candidates to fill vacancies and oversee any calls for nominations. Eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected.

  • Committee member position open (2-year term)

The role of the Nominating Subcommittee is to execute a nomination and election process for new POCT Professional Certification Committee members. All efforts will be supported by administrative staff. Eligible to serve two consecutive terms if re-elected
