Online Courses FAQ

What is an online course?

These short online courses provide self-paced learning on targeted specific topics essential to laboratory professionals to stay up to date and/or move to the next phase of their careers. Courses are also eligible for continuing education credit.

Are there any prerequisites for enrolling in a course?

Educational programs are open to anyone who wishes to participate. Specific professional experience or academic degrees are not required unless the program’s registration form specifically mentions them. The information contained on the program’s web pages will include the program’s target audience and level of difficulty.

Do I need to be a member to enroll in an online course?

No, you do not need to be a member of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC) to purchase access to an online course. As a member of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) you receive a significant fee discount and access to other great resources.

Non-members of ADLM may purchase certificate programs by first creating a complimentary account.

Do I earn continuing education (CE) credits for an online course?

ACCENT® credit accepted in all states where documentation for continuing education is required, including the following states: California, Florida, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and West Virginia. How many credits available differ for each certificate program and are listed in the description.

Can I earn partial CE credit for an online course?

No—only one link is provided for completion of the course. This link with instructions is provided at the end of each program. Upon successful completion, including completion of an evaluation, you will be able to print your CE certificate.

When can I begin my coursework?
