The COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly evolving healthcare situation and research into SARS-CoV-2 is ongoing. While much remains to be learned about SARS-CoV-2, laboratory professionals—who are working on the frontlines of COVID-19 testing—possess unique expertise in the development, use, and interpretation of clinical tests for this virus. These recommendations were informed by a review of evidence and the consensus of content experts.
