K.T. Jerry Yeo

K.T. Jerry Yeo, PhD, DABCC, FACB

Dr. Yeo is currently a Professor of Pathology and Director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratories, UCMedLab and Clinical Pharmacogenomics Program at the University of Chicago. He was the Director of Clinical Chemistry and Endocrinology Laboratories and Dartmouth Reference Laboratory and Professor of Pathology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center from 1995-2007. Prior to that he was the Scientific Director of Clinical Chemistry and Endocrinology Laboratories and an Assistant Professor at Beth Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School from 1987-1995. He is board-certified in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicological Chemistry by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. He is a past-chair of the Molecular Pathology Division of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry and a past vice-chair of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. Dr. Yeo is very interested in fostering and facilitating the adoption of clinical pharmacogenetic testing and he has developed and moderated several pharmacogenomic symposia at past AACC meetings, including Direct-to-Consumer Genomic Testing: Opening Pandora’s Box?” at the July 2011 AACC meeting. He is a co-Editor of a new textbook of Pharmacogenomic Testing in Current Clinical Practice: Implementation in the Clinical Laboratory, 2011 Humana Press, NY. His research focus is in biomarkers in cardiology and pharmacogenomics and he has published more than 100 original articles, book chapters and abstracts in the field of clinical chemistry and pharmacogenomics.
