Dr. Elian RAKHMANALIEV, PhD, is a Senior Scientist and Group Leader for the Infectious Diseases Group at Vela Diagnostics in Singapore. He obtained his M.S in Molecular Genetics from Moscow State University, and his PhD in Genetics from Vavilov Institute of General Genetics. He completed a fellowship in Oncology at Karolinska Institute and a postdoctoral fellowship in Immunogenetics at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Rakhmanaliev has more than 15 years of international academic and industrial experience in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. He received several academic awards for his work and has over 70 publications. Last seven years he is focusing on developing qPCR- and Next Generation Sequencing-based In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) tests. Currently he manages IVD assay development projects related to infectious diseases.
