Valentinas Gruzdys

Valentinas Gruzdys, PhD

Valentinas Gruzdys is certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (DABCC-CC) and currently serves as the assistant laboratory director for the departments of chemistry and chromatography (GC and LC-MS) in a CLIA high-complexity clinical laboratory. He also jointly oversees analytical operations of elemental analysis (ICP-MS) and molecular diagnostics (multiplex RT-PCR) to ensure CLIA, NY DOH and other regulatory compliance during assay validation and patient testing. Valentinas obtained his PhD in Clinical and Bioanalytical Chemistry from Cleveland State University. During that time, he was also engaged in research work at Cleveland Clinic, Clinical Biochemistry Dept. with primary focus on high-resolution mass spectrometry. Valentinas completed his post-doctoral Clinical Chemistry fellowship at the University of Utah with rotations in ARUP and Intermountain Healthcare laboratories. Valentinas has been continuously engaged in AACC activities ever since he was inspired to pursue clinical chemistry career as an undergraduate student. He is currently involved with AACC Chicago local section and AACC Artery.
