Ronald Booth

Ronald A. Booth, PhD, FCACB, FADLM, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Ottawa and Clinical Biochemist at the Ottawa Hospital. At the Ottawa Hospital, Dr. Booth directs the Immunology Section of the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) laboratory. He completed a BSc and MSc in Biochemistry at Carleton University, PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Ottawa and a clinical postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Booth is certified as a specialist in Clinical Chemistry, fellow of the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemists (FCACB) and Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemists (FACB).

Dr. Booth was the Treasurer of the Canadian Society of Clinical Chemists (CSCC) from 2008 to 2014 and is the current president of the Ontario Society Clinical Chemists (2018-2019). He was a past expert member of the Health Technology Expert Review Panel (HTERP) for the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) and is the current Vice-Chair of the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) Endocrinology & Immunology Scientific Committee. He is currently the co-lead for the Canadian Monoclonal Gammopathy Working Group’s effort in standardization of protein electrophoresis.
