Recommendations on SARS-CoV-2 Testing

The COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly evolving healthcare situation and research into SARS-CoV-2 is ongoing. While much remains to be learned about SARS-CoV-2, laboratory professionals—who are working on the frontlines of COVID-19 testing—possess unique expertise in the development, use, and interpretation of clinical tests for this virus. The resource below provides best practice recommendations from AACC lab experts on the use and limitations of COVID-19 serology testing (also known as antibody testing) and advocates for vigilance in implementing serologic testing to provide better patient care through laboratory medicine.

These recommendations were informed by a review of evidence and the consensus of content experts.
