Esther Babady

Esther Babady, Ph.D., is an assistant attending in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, the assistant director of the clinical microbiology service and the director of the clinical microbiology fellowship program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She received her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and completed a fellowship in Clinical Microbiology both at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is board certified by the American Board of Medical Microbiology and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology, is a contributor CLSI document development and a member of the technical advisory panel for the Joint Commission Laboratory standards development. Her research interests include rapid diagnosis of infections in immunocompromised hosts and the development and evaluation of molecular microbiology assays
