Frequently Asked Questions

What is the deadline?

Poster abstract submission deadline is February 24, 2021, 5 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time.

How will I receive confirmation?

Confirmation, including a temporary number, is provided as the last step of the online submission process.

How will you contact the authors whose names are included in the poster abstract submission?

All correspondence will be directed to the submitting/presenting author via e-mail, including disposition information, scheduling information, and poster preparation guidelines.

How will my poster abstract be evaluated/reviewed?

Each properly submitted poster abstract will be subject to a blind peer review (author name(s) and affiliations(s) are removed from poster abstracts provided to the reviewers). Two reviewers will evaluate each abstract. An independent third review may be carried out if the initial review calls for it. The Abstract Review Workgroup Chairs have the final authority on poster abstract disposition. All poster abstracts are evaluated by the standards outlined here. Failure to meet these criteria may lead to rejection of the submitted poster abstract with no opportunity to resubmit.

How and when will I be notified if my poster abstract is accepted or declined?

Submitting authors will receive notification of abstract disposition via e-mail by mid-April 2021.

If accepted, what is the limit to poster size?

The allotted area for each accepted poster is 46 inches (~116 cm) x 46 inches (~116 cm). Each poster board will contain two posters of this maximum size.

If accepted, when do I have to present my poster?

Posters will be available for a full day, either Tuesday, July 27 or Wednesday, July 28, 2021. You will be expected to DISPLAY your poster on your appointed day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. You will be expected to PRESENT your poster from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on your appointed day. All posters should be removed between 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Those that are not taken down will be removed and placed in a poster reclaim bin in the Poster Hall. At the end of the meeting, unclaimed posters will be discarded.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are also considering giving people the option to present their abstracts virtually during the meeting. We will provide more details on this to everyone whose abstract is accepted as soon as this information is available.

Is registration required?

If accepted, all poster presenters must register for the 2021 AACC Annual Scientific Meeting and pay the required registration fees for a full Conference registration. You may not present a poster if you only have an Expo Only badge or an Exhibitor badge.
