When and where will the 71st AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo be held?

In 2019, the event will be at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, U.S.

The AACC Annual Scientific Meeting will take place August 4–8 and the Clinical Lab Expo will take place on August 6–8.

What is the difference between the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting conference and the Clinical Lab Expo?

The AACC Annual Scientific Meeting includes hundreds of educational sessions on a wide variety of timely laboratory medicine topics.

The Clinical Lab Expo is the exhibit tradeshow of the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting and will host more than 800 exhibitors in all areas of clinical laboratory science.

Can I volunteer at the 71st AACC Annual Scientific Meeting?

AACC no longer uses member volunteers to monitor sessions at the annual scientific meeting. AACC would like to thank everyone who has volunteered in the past, and encourages former volunteers to register for the meeting.

FEES AND REGISTRATION

How much does it cost to attend the Clinical Lab Expo by itself (Expo Only registration)?

$40 if your registration is received by June 20, 2019.

$65 if your registration is received after June 20, 2019 or onsite.

How much does it cost to attend the educational sessions of the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting conference?

Pricing for attending the educational sessions will be available in January 2019.

What's included with my registration?

Currently, Expo Only registration is open, which grants access to the exhibit hall, Lecture Series Theater, and Industry Workshops. 

You may register for the Expo Only (exhibit hall access) now. Starting in early April 2019, you can then upgrade to a full Conference registration, which includes access to the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting educational sessions.

How do I register?

To register by fax or mail, print the form below, then fax or mail it according to the instructions on the form.

How do I register a group?

When registering on the website, the person logged in must be the person registering.

To register a group of people:

  • Fax or mail one registration form per person (above) according to the instructions on the form.
  • Contact the Customer Service Center or call 1.508.743.8506.

Please note that group registration is not available online.

What types of payment may I use when registering?

You must pay for online registration by credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

For registration by fax or mail, we also accept checks (in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. correspondent bank), or wire transfers. Wire transfers can be made according to the instructions on the registration form.

Purchase orders are not accepted. 

Can I register at the convention center?

Yes, you can register onsite. You will need to bring full payment and a government issued photo ID.

However, we strongly encourage pre-registration. When you pre-register it will help you reduce the time you spend in lines. Some attendees have waited up to 2 hours to register onsite.

BADGES

Will badges be mailed?

Badges will not be mailed in advance.

Where do I pick up my badge?

If you pre-register, you may pick up your badge at any of several “All Badge Pickup” counters in the convention center and headquarters hotels. Detailed badge pickup information will be email about 1 week before the meeting.

What do I need to bring to pick up my badge?

All registrants must show a government-issued photo ID to pick up their badges.

Each registrant must pick up his/her own badge; representatives of groups cannot pick up all the badges for that group.  

It is helpful if you also bring your confirmation letter or have your confirmation email available on your mobile device.

UPGRADES, CANCELLATIONS, AND TRANSFERS

What is the upgrade policy?

Expo Only (exhibit hall access) registration may be upgraded to a Conference registration that includes access to the educational sessions beginning in early April 2019.

How do I upgrade my Expo Only registration to include educational sessions?

In early April 2019 registration for the educational sessions (full Conference registration) will open.

If you register for the Expo Only now, you may upgrade to full Conference registration beginning in April 2019 by:

  • Returning to the Registration Resource Center (either via this page or the link in your confirmation email) and selecting “Upgrade.”
  • Faxing or mailing in a printed Conference registration form according to the instructions on the form.

Please note: The ability to upgrade in the Registration Resource Center and the Conference registration form will not be available until April 2019.

If I can't attend, can someone take my place at the Clinical Lab Expo?

No. There are no cancellations, refunds, or transfers of Expo Only registration.

What is the cancellation policy?

There will be no cancellations, refunds, or transfers of Expo Only registration fees.

BRINGING CHILDREN

Are children allowed in the convention center?

AACC permits individuals ages 16 and 17 with a photo ID to register for and attend the 71st AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo, if accompanied by a registered adult. Children under 16, however, are not permitted on the exhibit floor or in the educational sessions at any time.

HOUSING AND TRANSPORTATION

Where can I book a hotel room?

AACC has reserved rooms with special rates for conference attendees at area hotels in Anaheim. Housing will open to AACC members in January 2019 and to non-members in March 2019.
