WASHINGTON – AACC, a global scientific and medical professional organization dedicated to better health through laboratory medicine, is pleased to announce that it has received three 2015 Hermes Creative Awards. These awards recognize the association for the exceptional writing and design of its news publications and website, which help laboratory medicine professionals worldwide stay informed about important issues in the field and find solutions to challenging patient health problems.

Healthcare teams rely on laboratory medicine professionals to ensure patients get timely, accurate diagnoses and targeted therapies for treatment. In order to support lab practitioners in this critical role, AACC in 2014 unveiled bold redesigns of both its flagship magazine, Clinical Laboratory News (CLN), and website, www.myadlm.org. These redesigns enhanced CLN and aacc.org’s content in order to provide lab practitioners with more of the vital laboratory medicine news that they need, in addition to giving both communications vehicles a fresh, dynamic look. AACC also built on CLN’s tradition of delivering thoughtful commentary on the issues that matter to laboratory medicine professionals with the launch of the new weekly e-publication, CLN Stat.

In recognition of these leading health communication initiatives, AACC received the Hermes Creative Awards’ highest honor, the Platinum Award, in the “Electronic Media E-Communication – E-Newsletter” category for the March 5, 2015 issue of CLN Stat. AACC also won the Gold Award in the “Electronic Media – Website Overall – Association” category for www.myadlm.org, and in the “Print Media – Writing – Publication Article” category for the March 2015 CLN article “On the Road to Faster Newborn Screening.” The Hermes Creative Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. This year, there were more than 6,000 entries from 23 countries.

“Change is a constant in the field of healthcare, and AACC aims to ensure that laboratory medicine professionals are well-prepared to keep pace with this change and continue providing crucial insight and guidance so patients get the appropriate care,” said AACC CEO Janet B. Kreizman. “We at AACC are honored to be recognized by the Hermes Creative Awards for our efforts to provide lab practitioners with the information they need to improve patient health through effective testing, analysis, and treatment.”
