WASHINGTON – AACC, a global scientific and medical professional organization dedicated to better health through laboratory medicine, is pleased to announce that it has been honored with a 2015 ASAE Power of A Gold Award for Lab Tests Online.

Lab Tests Online is a health information web resource designed to help patients, caregivers, and medical professionals understand the many lab tests that are a vital part of medical care. Laboratory professionals, who are experts in the field, develop and review all content, including articles on lab tests, conditions/diseases, screening, clinical laboratory topics, and lab test news.

Lab Tests Online is available in 14 languages through 17 country sites and the content on each site is translated and adapted to policy and practice specific to that country. Countries with Lab Tests Online sites include the United States, Australia, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Korea, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

“Congratulations to AACC for helping make the world a better place,” said Hugh “Mac” Cannon, MPA, CAE, Executive Director of ACEC of Metropolitan Washington, and chair of the Power of A Awards Judging Committee. “Their program exemplifies how associations make a difference every day – not just to the industry or profession they represent, but to society at large.”

ASAE’s Power of A (association) Awards, the industry’s highest honor, recognize the association community’s valuable contributions on the local, national, and global level. The Power of A Awards reward outstanding accomplishments of associations and industry professionals for their efforts to enrich lives, create a competitive workforce, prepare society for the future, drive innovation, and make a better world.

“We are so proud to receive this award from ASAE,” said AACC CEO Janet B. Kreizman. “It shows what a difference a committed group of AACC members, along with the 16 partnering societies that make up Lab Tests Online’s editorial board, can make toward health literacy and patient empowerment.”
