Peggy Mann

Peggy Mann manages the POCT program within the Community Based Clinics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She has worked at UTMB for 26 years, serving patients, physicians and nursing personnel. In addition to POCT, Peggy oversees phlebotomy and reference lab services, student training, and environment of care concerns. Peggy serves on five UTMB institutional committees related to safety management.

A co-founder of the Texas Gulfcoast POCC Group, Peggy continues to organize and facilitate meetings. Active in speaking and writing, her developmental use of UTMB’s electronic medical record in POCT produced a Brown Bag lecture for the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) Annual Meeting.

Peggy is member-at-large of the CPOCT Division executive committee. Since 2004, she has enjoyed involvement in organizing the annual POC Forum, serving as 2007 co-chair. During the last year, Peggy participated in document writing on two CLSI projects. She is an active volunteer outside of work and attends graduate-level classes at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she received her Master’s degree in science.  Her undergraduate degree was awarded with honors from the Pennsylvania State University.
