Russell J. Eilers

1974 Lectureship Award

The Warner-Lambert Lecturer at the 1974 National Meeting of the the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC) will be Dr. Russell J. Eilers, Professor of Pathology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Eilers is best known for his accomplishments in the formation of administrative mechanisms for the development and propagation of clinical laboratory standards. His leadership in programs of the College of American Pathologists, the International Society of Hematology, the International Blood Transfusion Society, the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards, and, more recently, the American Society for Testing & Materials has been instrumental in bringing the concept of laboratory improvement into clinical medicine.
