Dr. E. J. Van Kampen, head of the Clinical Chemical Laboratories of the Diaconessen Hospital, Groningen, The Netherlands, was selected as the nominee for the Warner-Chilcott foreign lectureship. For the last 18 years he has held the directorship of the clinical laboratories at the Diaconessen Hospital, a position he assumed following receipt of his Ph.D. degree from the University of Groningen. His research work in the field of hemoglobinometry contributed to the recent international standardization of this procedure. He also has authored more than 40 scientific papers on various aspects of clinical chemistry.
