The Coordinating Council for the Clinical Laboratory Workforce (CCCLW), a coalition of more than a dozen laboratory organizations, has determined that the ability of labs to attract a growing and highly-qualified workforce is being adversely impacted by the profession’s lack of visibility and by an almost singular focus on reducing laboratory costs.
To reverse this situation will require a clear understanding of the value of the laboratory and laboratory professional, as well as the consequences to patients and the healthcare system when the laboratory is not optimally resourced. To meet this need, CCCLW has created a taskforce committed to identifying measures of value that laboratory professionals add (or can add) to the system.
The taskforce will deliver a framework and proposed measures that will be available for pilot testing in 2016. To ensure development of the most robust set of measures, we want to learn how your lab is demonstrating value in innovative ways.
Therefore, we ask that the leadership team of your department take 15–20 minutes to complete the following survey.
