What better way to experience the great science at AACC’s Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo than by taking a Division poster walk with colleagues who share your professional interest? In all, 15 of AACC’s divisions will be offering poster walks—half-hour highlights of selected posters led by Division subject matter experts.

Four of the sessions will take place at 12:30 p.m. on July 28; the others are all scheduled for July 29 at 12:30 p.m. The poster walks are free and open to individuals with full or daily conference registration. Tour signs will be set up outside the entrance to the poster display in the Exhibit Hall of the Georgia World Congress Center.

In the case of the Critical and Point-of-Care Testing Division, Division chair and poster walk leader T. Scott Isbell, PhD, DABCC, told CLN Stat that he plans “on selecting four or five posters to discuss during the walk that represent advancements in critical and point of care testing (POCT). Specifically I will be looking for posters that represent technological advancements, posters which demonstrate the application of POCT in novel ways, and/or posters which investigate outcomes related to POCT.”

Isbell is an assistant professor of pathology and medical director of clinical chemistry and point-of-care testing at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He also plans to discuss the CPOCT Division’s Best Annual Abstract, “Development and Validation of a Paper-Based Analytical Disc Assay for Rapid and Multiplex Blood Typing” by Yang Luo, et al.

Other divisions plan similarly to highlight abstracts illustrating scientific breakthroughs, practical implications for clinical labs, and the like.
