Zahra Shajani-Yi, PhD, DABCC, FAACC (Editor)
Dr. Shajani-Yi is Technical Director of Clinical Chemistry for LabCorp San Diego where she provides technical oversight for chemistry, special chemistry, and hematology. Dr. Shajani-Yi’s clinical interests are in endocrinology, hemoglobinopathies and laboratory test utilization. She has published as Dr. Shajani and currently publishes under Dr. Shajani-Yi.
Nadia Ayala-Lopez, MLS (ASCP), PhD
Dr. Ayala-Lopez is completing a clinical chemistry fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Prior to this, Ayala-Lopez was a clinical chemistry fellow at Vanderbilt University, completed postdoctoral research in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Yale University, and received a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University.
Darci Block, PhD, DABCC, FAACC
Dr. Block co-directs the Central Clinical Laboratory and Central Processing at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She also serves as vice chair of informatics in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
K. Aaron Geno, PhD, DABCC
Dr. Geno is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso in El Paso, Texas, since November 2020. He serves as director for the Microbiology Section of the University Medical Center of El Paso Laboratory and other laboratories within the UMC El Paso system. Aaron's current laboratory interests include laboratory stewardship, endocrinology, and applications of R programming to the clinical laboratory.
Ronald R. Henriquez, PhD, NRCC, FAACC
Dr. Henriquez is the Deputy Commander for the US Army Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory, Fort Meade, MD. He serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the AACC Clinical & Forensic Toxicology News and past-chair of the AACC Capital Local Section. His current professional interests include toxicology, laboratory management, and test utilization.
John Mills, PhD, DABCC, DABMGG
Dr. Mills is an assistant professor of laboratory medicine and pathology at Mayo Clinic where he serves as co-director of the neuroimmunology laboratory and as a clinical consultant in the laboratory of genomics and genetic. His professional interests include biomarker discovery and technology development that aid in the identification and management of patients with neurological disorders.
Heather M Stieglitz, PhD, DABCC
Dr. Stieglitz is Co-Director of Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Pathology Department of the Ohio University Wexner Medical Center. She is Medical Director for point of care testing at OSU Outpatient Care East, OSU Outpatient Care Lewis Center, and OSU Outpatient Care Gahanna. Dr. Stieglitz's research interests are in interferences in clinical testing, general chemistry, toxicology, and point of care testing.
Qian (Katie) Sun, PhD, DABCC
Dr. Sun is the technical director of the automated chemistry laboratory at Beaumont Hospital in Michigan and an assistant professor of pathology at Oakland University. She serves as treasurer of the North American Chinese Clinical Chemists Association, and nomination chair of the AACC Michigan Local Section. Her interests include endocrinology, inflammatory and serologic markers, and quality improvement in the clinical laboratory.
