Beckman Coulter Diagnostics received Food and Drug Administration clearance of its DxC 700 AU chemistry analyzer, which is intended to meet the needs of mid- to high-volume clinical laboratories. The new system merges into one standardized platform the design of Beckman Coulter’s DxC analyzer with the high throughput of the AU analyzer. Through its operating software and user interface, the DxC 700 AU chemistry analyzer reduces the number of test processing steps by 30%. The analyzer also uses fewer consumables compared to other systems in the same class. It also features concentrated reagents, long-lasting ion-selective electrodes, and nondisposable cuvettes—features Beckman Coulter says will reduce total cost of ownership for labs. Additionally, the system uses the Beckman Coulter “3 & 60” concept to enable lab staff to change out replacement parts in three steps, within 60 seconds, and with no tools.
