Janet B. KreizmanJanet Kreizman stepped into her new role as AACC's Chief Executive Officer on April 1 to lead the association as it pursues a recently implemented strategic plan.

"Following a comprehensive search that considered a broad list of highly qualified candidates, Janet's unique combination of management skills, professional experience, and healthcare community connections makes her the ideal choice to serve as AACC's CEO," said AACC President Robert H. Christenson, PhD. "We have completed a strategic plan to chart our path forward. We are very impressed at how Janet's vision is confluent with that of the organization, and how she plans to lead AACC into the future."

Kreizman brings to AACC 26 years of experience in non-profit and for-profit organizations. Since 2009, she served as deputy executive director and chief policy officer of The Endo-crine Society, providing executive management for health and science policy advocacy, strategic communications, patient education, marketing, membership and governance initiatives for the $30 million organization representing more than 16,000 scientists and clinicians. She has been a key participant in the society's initiative to standardize hormone testing through the Partnership for the Accurate Testing of Hormones (PATH), a collaboration with the National Institutes of Health, Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other professional organizations, that has many synergies with AACC's harmonization initiative.

Kreizman also held other positions at the society during her 9-year tenure, including director of government and public affairs and senior director of government and public affairs, before being appointed to her most recent position. Prior to The Endocrine Society, Kreizman served as director of government and public affairs at the American Medical Directors Association, executive director of the Alliance for Consumer Education, and executive director of the household and institutional products info council at the Consumer Specialty Products Association.

"I am honored to have been selected as AACC's new CEO and am excited to drive its mission of providing global leadership in advancing clinical laboratory science and medicine," Kreizman said. "I look forward to working with the board of directors and AACC staff toward an exciting future focusing on value of membership, best practices, science and innovation, and global influence. Together, we will advance laboratory medicine and raise awareness of its critical role in improving patient health around the world."
