In Memoriam: Dr. Howard Morris
Howard Morris, PhD, FAACB, FFSc(RCPA), president of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), passed away suddenly on April 18, 2019. An AACC member since 2009, Dr. Morris had been elected to serve as president of the IFCC from 2018-2020, and was the first person outside of the U.S. or Europe to hold this position.

AACC Congratulates First Certified Point-of-Care Testing Professional Diplomates
In 2018, AACC launched the first ever U.S. certification for healthcare experts who perform diagnostic tests outside the central laboratory. The association is now pleased to announce the first 17 diplomates who have received AACC’s Certified Point-of-Care Testing Professional designation through this program.

AACC Remembers Past President George N. Bowers Jr., MD
George N. Bowers Jr., MD, passed away at the age of 89 on August 16. Dr. Bowers served as AACC president in 1974, and was considered one of the leaders of his generation in the field of laboratory medicine.
