The process of selecting and evaluating clinical laboratory methods is critically important for clinical chemists and pathologists. In this short course, which is a continuation of Part 1 from the morning, the attendees will develop an understanding of the correct approach to this key clinical laboratory task. The instructors will use a series of examples to focus attention on the most significant aspects of the method evaluation process. The afternoon session will focus upon comparison of methods, the proper use of the correlation coefficient, total errors, the method decision chart, and making justifiable decisions about the acceptance of method performance.
