Dr. Truscott is a clinical chemist and technical director in the Special Chemistry, STAT Lab, and Point of Care Testing sections of Beaumont Laboratory in Royal Oak, Michigan. He earned his PhD in Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis and completed a ComACC-accredited fellowship in clinical chemistry and toxicology at the University of Louisville. In his current position, Dr. Truscott is a clinical consultant to physicians, laboratory medical directors, and medical technologists throughout the 8-hospital system of Beaumont Health. As an integral part of his practice in laboratory medicine, Dr. Truscott instructs and mentors pathology residents and chemical pathology fellows. He is also assistant professor of pathology at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, where he teaches medical students in the Diagnostic Medicine clerkship. Dr. Truscott has ongoing interests in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry methods.
