Nicole Tolan

Nicole V. Tolan, PhD, DABCC, is the Director of Scientific and Medical Affairs for SCIEX, company that develops mass spectrometry-based in vitro diagnostic medical devices, and holds an academic position as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Tolan received her PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Michigan State University and held a two-year Post-Doctoral Research position at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before completing the Clinical Chemistry Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Her interests include the application of mass spectrometry in clinical diagnostics, critical and point-of-care testing, and the role of laboratory medicine in improving patient outcomes. Dr. Tolan is active in a number of professional organizations, serving on the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Instrumentation Resource Committee and the AACC Society for Young Clinical Laboratorians (SYCL) Committee. She continues to teach through her academic position, in the Northeast AACC local section meetings, and at annual scientific conferences.
