Giovanni Lombardi

Giovanni Lombardi, PhD, is the head of the Laboratory of Experimental Biochemistry at IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Milano (Italia) and is Associate Professor of Health Sciences at Poznań University of Physical Education (Polska).

He graduated as Master in Medical Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine in 2006 and received the Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2009 from University of Milano.

His current main research topics are circulating miRNA-based biomarkers profiling, endocrine functions of bone and skeletal muscle, aging-related bone and muscle diseases (osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and osteosarcopenia), extra-analytical phase.

Giovanni Lombardi is member of the Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry (SIBioC) and he is currently chairman of the study group on “biochemical markers and metabolism of bone and muscle tissues”. He is corresponding member of the IFCC working group on “bone metabolism”.

He is author of 126 articles on peer-reviewed journals and 3 chapter books.
