Donald H. Chace, MSFS, PhD, FACB

Dr. Chace is currently director of Pediatrix Analytical, Pediatrix Center for Research, Education and Quality, Pediatrix Medical Group, Sunrise, Florida and a guest researcher in the Newborn Screening Branch, Division of Laboratory Sciences/National Center for Environmental Health Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta Georgia. Current research topics include development of metabolic screening and tests to detect both inborn errors of metabolism and monitor metabolic profiles in premature infant with focus on the impact of nutrition and growth using primarily mass spectrometry and a dried filter paper blood matrix. Research interest also include improving, expanding and adapting screening tests for acylcarnitines, amino acids, thyroxine and other important biomarkers for detection of metabolic aberrations at it relates to various disease states in patient populations other than newborn screening and postmortem screening (areas that Dr. Chace has published extensively in Clinical Chemistry).
