How to Get Involved in AACC

Member participation is vital to AACC maintaining active and vibrant programs and services, and we welcome member involvement. There are so many ways to join in our common work of advancing clinical laboratorians, laboratory medicine practice, and the profession of laboratory medicine.

Local Sections

AACC has 20 Local Sections  which are regionally based in North America. To participate at the local level, attend and network at local section meetings in your area, volunteer as a section officer; or develop programming for your Local Section.

Divisions

Join colleagues in any of AACC's 20 scientific Divisions, which cover the spectrum of clinical laboratory medicine. Division membership includes access to web community areas, educational and meeting activities, awards and grants programs as well as providing a rich opportunity to enhance your professional contacts and leadership opportunities. Join one division, or all, there is no limit.

ACCENT® Reviewer

An ACCENT® reviewer is an AACC member who reviews applications submitted for ACCENT® credit. This person ensures that the program described in the application meets the criteria for to be accredited for ACCENT® credit. To volunteer to be an ACCENT® reviewer,contact the ACCENT® Education Coordinator.

Serve on a Committee

AACC's 25 program committees offer many opportunities for member participation. The AACC President makes committee appointments—open to professional, transitional and emeritus members—generally after an individual is involved at the association in other ways. 

Nominate a Colleague for an AACC Award

Nominate a colleague for one of AACC's many awards to recognize outstanding achievements and contributions to AACC and the clinical laboratory medicine profession.

Contribute to AACC's access program

AACC's access program supports deserving science students and clinical laboratorians worldwide by providing them with travel grants to attend the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo. Through the opportunity to hear the very latest science, see in person the full range of diagnostic technologies, and crucially, make personal connections with fellow laboratorians, students, device manufacturers, researchers, regulators, and public health authorities from around the world, Access sets up grantees for successful, enduring careers in laboratory medicine.
