2015 Outstanding Scientific Achievements by a Young Investigator
Dr. Lynch is associate professor of laboratory medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and associate chief of the clinical chemistry and toxicology laboratory at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. She is also the co-director of the clinical chemistry training program at UCSF. Her research laboratory focuses primarily on the evaluation of small molecules in biological matrices by mass spectrometry and correlating the findings with clinical pathologies. Her work seeking to advance novel testing strategies and technologies has led to more than 30 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. She is the principal investigator and co-investigator on a number of research awards, grants, and contracts. Dr. Lynch has given numerous invited national and international presentations on her research and has received awards for her abstracts and presentations from the the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC), the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists, and the European Association of Poisons Centers and Clinical Toxicologists. Other honors include a predoctoral fellowship from the NIH, the Past-President’s Postdoctoral Scholarship from the former Van Slyke Foundation, and the Young Investigator Award from the the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) TDM/Toxicology Division. She is active in the ADLM at the local and national level. She is a past chair of the Northern California section and has held leadership positions in the TDM/Toxicology and the Clinical and Diagnostic Immunology divisions. She served on the ADLM Clinical Laboratory Strategies editorial board and is currently on the board of Clinical and Forensic Toxicology News. In addition to her service to ADLM, she has served on committees for The Association for Mass Spectrometry: Applications to the Clinical Lab; the International Association for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology; and the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists.
