Held in conjunction with the 2023 the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (formerly AACC) Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo, this workshop will equip you with a full range of skills to make you an effective leader, both in and out of the lab. When is the last time you had to pitch a new instrument purchase to administration, help an employee with burnout, or defuse a tense situation in the lab? As a leader in the laboratory, you may find yourself in these situations frequently.
So-called "soft skills" are a major asset in managerial roles, but postgraduate programs frequently do not spend much time teaching them. SYCL is here to help! We've assembled a team of experts with proven records in helping people develop these skills. We want to make sure you get a good start in your leadership journey.
Specifically, this year's workshop will focus on key skills around emotional intelligence and communication. You'll learn how to craft messages and pitches to administration to get traction in starting new projects. We'll also address emotional intelligence and wellness for yourself and others, helping you to recognize signs of burnout and other issues that require attention but are frequently overlooked. And we'll provide a diverse toolkit for addressing tense communication and conflict resolution, enabling you to navigate tricky interpersonal situations and empower your whole team succeed.
You can register for the SYCL Workshop through the the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) Annual Scientific Meeting registration site.
