The Award was created in 1992 to recognize the outstanding achievements of an individual who has made significant contributions in the field of animal clinical chemistry in its broadest sense including teaching, training, practicing, and research.
The award consists of a plaque and a cash honorarium of $2000 and is traditionally presented at the DACC annual meeting reception or annual business meeting.
DACC Travel Award
Recognition Award for Best Animal Division Poster at AACC Annual Scientific Meeting
The AACC Division of Animal Clinical Chemistry (DACC) Executive and Award Committees established in 2008 a Travel Award to be given in recognition of outstanding research in the area of animal clinical laboratory medicine for an abstract accepted and poster presented at the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting.
The award will consist of a certificate of scientific merit, a $500 monetary cash award and travel reimbursement (up to $1000) to support the awardee’s expenses to attend (registration fee waived) a DACC meeting.
The Royden N. Rand Division of Animal Clinical Chemistry Past-Chair Award
This named award honors the service of the past-chair and pays tribute to the memory of Dr. R.N Rand, the AACC president who initially sanctioned the formation of the original ad hoc Laboratory Animal Clinical Analysis Group in 1976. This award is given every other year to the DACC’s immediate past-chair to honor his or her contributions to the field of animal clinical laboratory science throughout his or her career and to acknowledge the recipient's many contributions to the Division of Animal Clinical Chemistry. Each chair has sacrificed his or her time to promote and provide education in the area of animal clinical chemistry, and to foster communication and networking among division members as per the Division mission.
DACC Certificate of Recognition
In 2000 the DACC Executive and Award Committees initiated a Certificate of Recognition to honor DACC members for meritorious service, dedication, and contributions to the AACC Division of Animal Clinical Chemistry (DACC) that enhanced and advanced the practice and profession of animal clinical laboratory medicine. This award consists of a framed certificate usually presented at a regional meeting or at the AACC Annual Scientific Meeting.
