M. Laura Parnas, PhD, DABCC, FACB
M. Laura Parnas, PhD, DABCC, FACB is the Associate Medical Director for Laboratory Services at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Palo Alto, CA. Prior to joining PAMF, Laura completed a Clinical Chemistry Fellowship at the University of Utah/ARUP Laboratories. Laura holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of North Dakota and a BS in Clinical Biochemistry from the Catholic University in Cordoba, Argentina.
Laura has been an active AACC member since 2007 and is currently involved in various capacities at both local and national levels. She serves as the chair-elect of the Northern California Section, and is a member of the Government Relations Committee, the Van Slyke Foundation Board of Trustees, and Clinical Chemistry Trainee Council’s Council Chat. Additionally, Laura verified the Spanish translation of Westgard’s Basic QC Practices 3rd Edition book, and is the voice for the Pearls of Laboratory Medicine in Spanish. Laura’s interests include general and special clinical chemistry, all aspects of quality management in the laboratory, mentoring, and process improvement projects applying LEAN principles.
