The RC/DC 900 FLEX combines pre- and post-analytics in one compact stand-alone instrument, providing a less expensive alternative to complete automation. The 900 FLEX enables simple, rapid and safe identification, recapping, and decapping of up to 900 tubes per hour, reducing the risk of repetitive motion injuries and accidental exposures. Push, stopper, and screw caps are safely removed and hygienically disposed, and a universal cap is used for archiving. The unit is programmable for user- specific analyzer racks, eliminating the manual transfer of tubes. The 900 FLEX can be designed as a decapper or recapper only, with subsequent retrofitting capability.

MINICAP Hemoglobin: Hemoglobinopathy Automation

With a small footprint, the MINICAP instrument is designed to optimize and completely automate electrophoresis testing in low-to-medium-volume labs. Simply place a bar-coded primary tube on the system and walk away; red cell hemolysate is automatically prepared. Sebia has received clearance from the FDA to market the MINICAP Hemoglobin assay as an aid in the diagnosis of hemoglobinopathies and thalassemias. Automated, capillary electrophoresis (CE) technology provides high-resolution separation and quantitation of normal and abnormal hemoglobins. CE technology allows for a separate migration of Hbs E, A2, and C; an accurate Hb A2 value even in the presence of S, E, D, and G-Phil; and clear detection and quantitation of H, Bart’s and Delta A2´.
