Clinical Laboratory Analyzer Archive Expanding
Since the 1950s, advances in clinical chemistry instrumentation have had a profound impact on laboratory medicine. To document this fascinating evolution, the AACC History Division in 2011 created a digital Clinical Laboratory Analyzer Archive that today has more than 500 entries, encompassing clinical chemistry, coagulation, cytology, hematology, immunoassay, integrated systems, molecular, point-of-care, sample processing, and automation systems. Open to all, the archive is housed on AACC’s website on the History Division pages.
Division members are now inviting entries in blood banking, histology, laboratory information systems, microbiology, and virology. For more information on how to submit an entry contact Dr. Larry Kricka at Kricka@mail.med.upenn.edu.
